Stop Copying Influencers for Results (Do This Instead)
You’re doing all the workouts. You’re eating “healthy.” But somehow you’re always losing and gaining the same 10 to 15 lbs. Sound familiar?
And then you open your phone, see fit influencers everywhere, and the frustration just builds. You feel like everyone else is getting results except you.
Here’s what nobody tells you. Most of what you see online is highly unrealistic. Those people might work out for hours at a time, heavily restrict their food intake to the point where it’s unhealthy, and sometimes it’s literally their full-time job. That’s all they do.
Comparing yourself to that isn’t just unfair. It’s keeping you stuck.
Why Copying Doesn’t Work
You don’t know what’s actually happening behind someone else’s content. You don’t know their metabolic history. You don’t know if they’re struggling in silence. You don’t know if they’re actually healthy or just white-knuckling their way through an unsustainable routine.
What works for someone else’s body, schedule, and lifestyle might be completely wrong for yours.
This is one of the biggest reasons women stay frustrated. They keep trying to follow someone else’s plan instead of building one that fits their own life.
Motivation Shows Up for Everything
Here’s something I want you to understand. Motivation shows up for something every single day. Whether that’s eating well and moving your body, or laying on the couch with some chips.
The difference isn’t about having more willpower. It’s about connecting with your deeper “why” and aligning your habits with your own goals and values. That’s what actually creates the balance you’re looking for.
What Actually Moves the Needle
Years ago, I felt stuck just like this. Frustrated, confused, comparing myself to everyone I saw online. In 2020, I hired my own health coach who helped me align my goals with my life values and take small steps every day.
I didn’t need a new workout plan from Instagram. I needed someone to help me figure out what actually worked for my body and my life. That experience changed everything, and it’s exactly why I became a health coach myself.
Here’s where to start:
- Stop following fitness plans that aren’t built for you. A plan designed for a 22-year-old influencer with no job, no kids, and no stress is not your plan.
- Start small. You don’t need a complete life overhaul. You need one or two habits that you can actually stick with.
- Focus on how you feel, not how you look compared to someone online. Energy, mood, hunger, sleep. Those are your real indicators.
- Get clear on what’s actually holding you back. It’s rarely what you think it is.
Build Your Own Path
The women who finally break free from the comparison trap are the ones who stop looking outward and start looking inward. What does YOUR body need? What fits YOUR schedule? What makes YOU feel strong and nourished?
One step at a time. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. The goal isn’t to become someone else. It’s to become the healthiest, most confident version of you.
